Anywho, our Saturday was pretty good. It started, like most Saturday's with a trip to the chiropractor. I'm still having pain around my shoulder blade from what I thought was a pulled muscle from yard work 3 weeks ago. But thinking a pulled muscle would be healed by now and still having too much pain, I mentioned it to the Dr. again. So he tried traction. Anybody ever had it done? I have to say it was different. Instead of getting my neck cracked side to side, he slipped something over my head. I've seen him use it on other people and always called it a bra just because of the way it looks. Anyway, he put it on me and went behind and started gently pulling. I was just thinking it wasn't so bad when we jerked it. It sounded like a whip went down my spine. It didn't hurt but it was a little scary since it was new to me. But he said that should open everything up and help, that I would feel it all over later and that it sounded like I really needed that. And yes, I've been pretty sore. I joked on the way home that I'd probably be taller now so Peanut measured me later and I was! 1/2 inch taller!
The rest of the afternoon was filled with yard work, house cleaning and even a short nap before family arrived just after 5:00. It was just a quick visit from them as they had already been on vacation all week and were stopping by for the night on their way back home. But it was nice seeing Superman's brother, his wife and our 17 month old nephew! The evening was filled with this meal, coffee, Guitar Hero, Boom Blox and kettle corn before heading to bed. To the strong smell of a skunk just outside, I might add.
We were woke up this morning by a knock on the bedroom door and then whispers of "I just knocked on the door". By one of the kids. At 6:00 am. That's 3 hours earlier than they have to get up on Sundays. Superman usually leaves for church by 7:45 because the choir sings in both services and the kids and I go to the 11:00 service. We weren't sure how today would go because Superman's brother didn't know if they wanted to head home early in the morning or stick around for a while. Anyway, we got up since everyone else seemed to be up! The kids were playing with their cousin and bro and sis-in-law had almost all their stuff packed up to go. Early risers drive me crazy. And it didn't help that they are used to being an hour ahead of us too. But we had some coffee, enjoyed another couple hours of conversation and watching the little guy dance, yell and poke people's belly buttons and then they left.
And we're so tired. Like slumber party tired. Know what I mean? Like when you go to a slumber party and finally go to sleep an hour or two before you have to get up and you're so completely out of it until you can take a nap. I can't even describe what I'm feeling physically. Fuzzy head, achy body, like I'm working so hard to keep my eyeballs straight instead of crossing that they feel like they're going to pop out of my face. Know the feeling now? And next weekend we have company Friday to Sunday afternoon. But, it's my niece and her boyfriend and I know she rarely gets up before noon so that's good! The weekend after that is Superman's parents from Friday to TUESDAY. Too long if you ask me.
So I made Hubby some cinnamon rolls for breakfast, burnt them because one should never operate an oven early in the morning. I realize by the time I made them it was after 8:00 and yes, I consider that too early too. We tried to get the kids to go back to sleep since it was what we consider early but they'd already had too much excitement. And we're skipping church and going to take nice long nap, most likely even before lunch.
That brings us to right now. Just before 10:00 am. We can't believe we've already been up for almost 4 hours. That is not right. So please forgive me if there are things that don't make any sense at all.

4 people love me:
I've never had traction done... and it sounds scary from your post! How are you feeling now?
I'm with you on the early mornings! That's crazy early for us too. Does your family not read your blog? Or are they just really good sports? Anyhow, not sure how to make a cell phone mosaic but I'd be willing if I knew. And, how'd you come up with the name for your blog - I wonder that often. I think it is funny :)
p.s. now i'm going to be scared of the chiro.
i am SOOOO not a morning person either. all my family is (parents, siblings, nieces/nephew), so i know how you feel!
i hope you have caught up on your sleep and hope the rest of your family visits go well!
